There are a few everyday things in life that get me excited. A great big cup of coffee, squishy yarn and smooth hooks, and plenty of attractive storage baskets for my stuff. Luckily we can just pick up our hooks and use our superpower to customize our storage receptacles and that is exactly what I did. I really enjoy the finished project and want to share the free crochet basket pattern with you guys here.

You find the free crochet basket pattern below. If you would like to purchase an ad free PDF to keep in a binder, follow this link to my Etsy shop or this link to my Ravelry store!
You can substitute the tshirt yarn by using three strands of worsted weight cotton.
Materials needed
1 skein of Hooked Ribbon Xl in main color
1/2 skein of hooked ribbon Xl in contrasting color
optional: leather or faux leather tags like these
Yarn needle
You should use a stitch marker and work in continuous rounds. Do not join with a slst after each round, just make your first stitch directly into your last.
The stitch I used for the basket is called the knit stitch. Instead of inserting your hook in the space between two single crochet stitches, you will want to insert your hook in between the two loops of your single crochet stitch. You know that you have worked it correctly if your piece looks like tiny V’s. For the Rim, you will work a modified moss stitch. Please check out the pictures for reference!
Note that the bottom will appear wobbly at first but will even itself out after a few rounds without increases.
