Crochet Bunny Basket
A quick and easy animal basket pattern. This crochet basket pattern is fun to make and sturdy.
The whole crochet basket is worked in the knit stitch. You can easily customize the size by switching out blanket yarn for worsted weight, or t-shirt yarn. Follow this link to buy the pattern in my Etsy shop
Materials Needed
1 skein Bernat Blanket Yarn in Vintage White
Scraps of pink, black, orange, and green worsted weight yarn
6.5 mm (US K) crochet hook
Yarn needle
Faux fur pom pom
Pattern Notes
• The bottom of the basket is worked in regular single crochet.
• Stitch count may seem unusual, but it is necessary for a flat base.
• Use the recommended yarn and hook to ensure firmness.
• Ears will not stand if sides are too soft.
• Join rounds on the base with a slip stitch and chain 1.
• Basket sides are worked in continuous rounds.
• The basket sides use the knit stitch, worked between the two loops of a single crochet stitch.

Rnd 1: 10 sc in mr
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st (20)
Rnd 3: *2 sc, sc* repeat (30)
Rnd 4: *sc 2, 2 sc* repeat (40)
Rnd 5: *2 sc, sc 3* repeat (50)
Rnd 6: *sc 4, 2 sc* repeat (60)
Rnd 7: *sc 5, 2 sc* repeat (70)
Rnd 8: sc around
Rnd 9: *sc 6, 2 sc* repeat (80)
Rnd 10: sc in back loop only
Rnd 11–22: knit stitch around
Rnd 23: Create handles as written
Rnd 24: Work sc into chain spaces
Rnd 25: Slip stitch and finish
Ears (make 2)
Rnd 1: 6 sc in mr
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st (12)
Rnd 3: Increase to 14
Rnd 4–6: sc around
Rnd 7: Decrease to 12
Rnd 8–10: sc around
Fasten off, leave tail for sewing
Assembly
Sew ears to basket at handle area.
Attach tail to Round 13.
Embroider face as desired.
Carrot Tassels
Wrap orange yarn 10 times.
Secure with green yarn.
Attach to handles.
